The Deadly Mantis, also known as Shaolin Mantis, is a 1978 Shaw Brothers film directed by Lau Kar-Leung. Starring David Chiang and Liu Chia Hui, it follows the story of Wei Fung(David Chiang), a scholar recruited by the Emperor to infiltrate the Tien Clan, a group connected to rebel activities. To gain their trust, Wei becomes the instructor for Chi-Chi, the granddaughter of the clan leader, and complications arise when she falls in love with him.
